Students who want to push the frontiers of knowledge have the opportunity to do so from the moment they step foot on campus, thanks to our many undergraduate research opportunities. Undergraduates work side-by-side with world-renowned researchers, assisting with ongoing research or designing and directing their own projects. The annual Undergraduate Symposium gives students in the biological, physical, and social sciences, as well as in the arts and humanities, the opportunity to present their work to other students, faculty, and potential employers.
The Pathways Scholars Program is an eight-week, intensive summer research program for UW–Madison undergraduates designed to cultivate and strengthen students’ research skills in the humanities, sciences, or social sciences. Students apply to be part of this diverse learning community that includes students from historically underrepresented groups.
