Reentry Admission for Study Abroad Students
UW–Madison students participating in a semester-long study abroad program sponsored by a university other than UW–Madison must apply for reentry admission to Wisconsin. (If you are participating in a summer or winterim program, you do not need to apply for reentry admission.)
You can apply online or download a paper application (pdf, 736K). You do not need to pay the $35 application fee nor resubmit standardized test scores.
- Completing the Paper Application: Reentry applicants do not need to complete the following sections/questions:
- Section I, Question 1 (enrollment)
- Section I, Questions 18–20, 22, and 23 (pertaining to high school education)
- Section IVa/b: High School Courses in Progress
- Section VI: Activities
- Section VII: Applicant’s Statement
- Section VIII: High School Counselor Information
- Completing the Online Application: Reentry applicants do not need to complete the following sections, questions, and forms:
- Section 3, Education Part 1: High School, Exams
- Section 6: High School Courses in Progress
- Section 8: Activities
- Campus Specific Section, UW–Madison, Question 14: Applicant’s Statement
- High School Counselor Form
Be sure to list your study abroad institution (name, location, dates) in Section I, Question 24 of the paper application or Section 4, Education Part 2 of the online application. Similarly, list the study abroad course work you completed in Section Va of the paper application or Section 7 of the online application.
