By Car

We are just 80 miles from Milwaukee, 150 miles from Chicago, and 270 miles from Minneapolis. Check out our driving directions and parking information.

By Plane

Dane County Regional Airport, located just 10 minutes from campus, offers more than 100 daily flights. Nonstop flights are available from 15 major cities, including Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, New York, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C.

By Bus

Several bus lines and motor coach companies also serve Madison and the UW campus. Greyhound offers daily service to and from Madison. Badger Coaches offers daily service to and from Milwaukee. And for those traveling to or from the Chicagoland area, Van Galder Bus Company offers daily round-trip service from the Memorial Union to downtown Chicago and O’Hare and Midway Airports.

Badgers on the Bus

  • Whether students are coming to campus for a visit or going home for Thanksgiving break, it’s easy to get to and from Chicago’s O’Hare and Midway Airports and Milwaukee’s Mitchell Field. Ten buses leave for Chicago from the Memorial Union everyday, throughout the day. And six buses go to and from Milwaukee all week long. Discounted student bus tickets are available at the Memorial Union.
