adopted by an American family, and raised in Madison. Being a Latina greatly impacted her identity, as well as her academic and extracurricular involvement at UW–Madison. Miriah chose UW–Madison in part to show how underrepresented groups of people can thrive and succeed here.


As someone who identifies as both an American and a Latina, she wants to know the history of people of both identities. “My goal is to work with an adoption agency as a bilingual translator. I think it is critical to know Spanish and English in today’s economy.”
