
has worked his way up to the position of vice-chief justice of the Associated Students of Madison’s (ASM) Student Judiciary. He was first appointed to the university’s Academic and Nonacademic Misconduct Panel, soon became chair, and later was appointed to the Student Judiciary.


“For the past two years, I have worked on 36–foot fishing vessels in Bristol Bay, Alaska, part of the Bering Sea. My father was a fisherman in Alaska in his early 20s, and my family still had a fishing permit. I decided the summer after my senior year of high school to make use of the permit, fishing for sock–eye salmon.”
