Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities

Alumni Admissions Volunteer

This position is an alumni volunteer position within the Office of Admissions and Recruitment and supports the Office of Admissions and Recruitment efforts to recruit and enroll a diverse and competitive class of students to UW-Madison.

1. Qualifications

  • Graduate of UW–Madison (Required)
  • Not a private educational consultant or agent for current and/or prospective applicants
  • Effective communicator
  • Enthusiastic about UW-Madison

2. Responsibilities

  • Learn volunteer expectations as outlined by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment and review training materials in preparation for volunteer participation
  • Build knowledge on the UW–Madison experience and the current undergraduate admissions process
  • Complete feedback forms provided by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment on your volunteer experience
  • Conduct self in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner as an ambassador of UW-Madison
  • Abide by NACAC Statement of Principles of Good Practice, in particular:
    1. accurately represent and promote UW–Madison
    2. refrain from disparaging comparisons of other secondary or post-secondary institutions
    3. not accept or offer reward or remuneration from secondary school, college, university, agency, or organization for placement or recruitment of students in the United States
