Tips for Parking on Campus

Note that prime parking locations fill up quickly for large events, so have a backup plan of where to park in case your primary choice is full. We strongly suggest guests allow at least 45-60 minutes to find parking arrangements and should plan to park for a few hours at a time. Parking at meters is discouraged for full-day programs. Full-day parking is about $12.00. There are various campus and public parking lots and ramps near or on campus. Here are the closest options:

  • Lot 17 (Engineering Ramp) - Close to Union South (0.3 miles) and the Discovery Building (0.3 miles)
  • Lot 20 (University Avenue Ramp) - Close to the Discovery Building (0.1 miles) and Union South (0.2 miles)
  • Lot 80 (Union South Garage) - Close to Union South (0 miles) and the Discovery Building (0.1 miles)
  • Lot 7 (Grainger Hall Garage) - Centrally located and within a few blocks of Union South (0.3 miles), the Discovery Building (0.3 miles), Gordon Dining & Event Center (0.3 miles), the Office of Admissions and Recruitment (0.3 miles), Memorial Union (0.4 miles), and the Red Gym (0.5 miles)
  • Lot 46 (Lake & Johnson Ramp) - Close to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment (0 miles), Gordon Dining & Event Center (0.1 miles), the Red Gym (0.3 miles), and Memorial Union (0.3 miles)
  • Lot 83 (Fluno Center Garage) - Close to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment (0.1 miles), Gordon Dining & Event Center (0.3 miles), the Red Gym (0.3 miles), and Memorial Union (0.4 miles)

Directions to Union South

Located at 1308 West Dayton Street, Union South hosts daily information sessions, campus tours, and special events. Freshman applicants can also meet with a counselor in the lobby before and after the daily admissions information session, Monday through Friday. Directions to Admissions and Recruitment

On the first floor of 702 West Johnson Street, the Office of Admissions and Recruitment is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Transfer students can meet here with an admissions counselor during the daytime, Monday through Friday.
